Some places to consider in Portugal are “Lagos, Vilamoura and Tavira”, according to the data revealed.

“Big cities like Lisbon and Porto will cost more, smaller cities less”, underlined Jennifer Stevens, executive editor of International Living, who praised the Algarve region, namely Lagos, a city ‘with history’, Vilamoura, which has ” stunning beaches, and Tavira, ‘dotted with buildings covered in blue and white tiles’.

With the cost of living being “lower” compared to the United States, the data also reveal that Portugal is in first place on the list “because of the strength of the US dollar today”.

“It’s a timely choice – because Europe is effectively for sale if you’re buying with dollars”, guarantees Jennifer Stevens.
